Norternpinwheel - Voreios anemomilos, has the pleasure of hosting in its musical company a special musical point of view and a well-made musical project with the title Dretta, which was recently hosted at the Athens Concert Hall.
 
Vassilis Giaslakiotis, initiator of the Dretta project, was born in 1982 in Heraklion, Crete. At the age of 8 he began his musical studies in the Cretan lyre at the music school of Spyros Sifogiorgakis from where he graduated 6 years later. 
 
He then studied drums in Heraklion where he participated in various rock and improvisational music groups. He collaborates with popular artists of the Greek music scene and participates in well-known jazz, rock and traditional music groups as well as musical theater performances.
 
"Dretos" in Cretan dialect means straight.
 
A set of music based on the Cretan idiom and destined to the improvisational basis of modal jazz create the album entitled "Dretta" by Vassilis Giaslakiotis.
Taking the Cretan tradition as his starting point, Vassilis composes music from his adolescence until today, thus creating a musical motif that should normally belong to 6 separate collections.
 
However, as he himself says, "every species can marry one another if there is love and aesthetics in man".
 
So, six pieces of music plus one arrangement went into this record and make it as special and special as when things that are foreign to each other come together, which even after a close look you can't tell them apart.

Northernpinwheel - Northern Pinwheel, was created from an idea, for the production  of inventive and recording works, always in accordance with the aesthetics of the company, without seeking competition  in area of discography, but with the purpose of serving and competing with its own corporate status, for the implementation and support of its ideas.
 
The name of the company is due to the "stone giants" the windmills, which existed in scattered places in Crete, and which operated due to the north winds that prevailed on the island, thus wanting to "unite" with its vision, which is none other than to "grind whatever  wheat it wants and whenever it chooses".
